Our New Obsession: Typography

I'm not pretending I was the first one to discover this stationer's treat.  It's been used since your dad's garage band's tour promo.  But, now, it's made it's way onto the wedding scene as one of the newest ways of making a statement in your stationery.  Monograms?  Eh. Typography?  The latest rage.

One of the coolest things about typography is that it can be strangely vintage and modern at the same time.  It can go either way.  No matter what your styling scheme is, picking out the fonts that best match your style will give your guests a great introduction to your BrideStyle through your save-the-dates and invitations.  Then, carry the fonts throughout your menus, programs, place cards etc.  Check out a few examples...

I love how this incorporates cute little graphics.  This kind of eclectic style is huge in bridal right now.  Take a cue from this adorable save-the-date and introduce a bit of whimsy into your stationery by choosing simple clip-art to accent the fonts.

Romantic Modern: Keep your typographed invite soft and romantic by choosing a paper color that will allow for white type.

The studio that created this invite gives some great ways to keep your typography simple and easy to read.  This is a great example of a typographed invitation with no script fonts!

This is typographic perfection!  The fonts are clean and easy to read, but the colors and graphics make it interesting and eye-catching.
